The Cowbell Basket is also referred to as the Apple Gathering Basket. Folklore says this basket was run with the pickers, on top of a ladder, and the bells were rung when the picker needed the basket emptied. The basket has 3 bottoms, making it very sturdy. The inside is mounded up so apples and vegetables will not bruise. The bell is sandwiched between the inside and outside bottoms.
